Good dictionary, but I would have preferred if there would have been a section for idioms, and a use of the words in context, which helps a lot. Not bad anyways...

Im studying Danish in my leisure time and have been using this app for a couple of weeks. So far I like it a lot, the user interface is comfortable and it is equipped with a huge word list. Most online Danish dictionaries arent as comprehensive. In order to have the words read out to you the voice feature has to be installed which comes at 1,59€ per language and is a computer voice. Bearing in mind the app itself costs 2,79€ I think we have a great deal here with a solid performance at a price that is more than fair!
Synthesized Danish pronunciations arent really useful but rest is decent.
I bought this to help me read Jussi Adler-Olsen in Danish. Virtually all the words I looked up (e.g. hegnspæle, ædetruge, skinbarlig ...) were not in the dictionary. This dictionary is simply too basic for my needs. It should state how many words it contains.
This apt is great bc you dont need a data plan or wifi to use it.
I cant speak for a Danish person in North America, but I took this app to Kobenhaven and it was useless. Its missing key words and normal phrases. You have to pay extra for the voices and most of the time they dont work. You can tap away on the words to be pronounced and nothing happens.
This app is a great compliment to a regular dictionary. It will give you a general idea of the translation that can be supported by a regular dictionary later. JD
Not the best dictionary, missing way too many words. Would stick to google translate.
This app is excellent - easy to use and no annoying ads.
I bought this app for my upcoming trip to Copenhagen thinking it would be a quick way to enter English phrases so that I could more easily communicate with Danish citizens. Wrong. The $1.99 extra I paid for translation got me English translation only. Thanks, but I already speak English. This app is so useless to me that I nearly gave it one star! But to be fair, after going back and reading the description it did mention only English translation. Be warned, English speakers: There is no English to Danish translation in this app!
Just what I needed, has a bit of trouble with dialect I think though. Overall I love it.
This app does what it claims. Its been the dictionary I use for a while. The vocabulary is limited. For basic needs, this will do the job. For definitions or explanations of how words in either language differ, rather than listing synonyms, this app misses the mark. The interface took a little getting used to. Sloppy, but functional.
This is so much easier than dragging my full-sized Danish dictionary around. I can do translation on the go. The voices are okay; they can be a little hard to understand. It also can be difficult when Im looking for a word containing the Danish vowels; the iPhone just doesnt have them (that I know of!). Worth the money. Love it.
Much easier to use than my bulky print volume, not to mention lighter weight! But the best thing is that it shows noun genders! Its simple to switch between English to Danish and Danish to English modes. The usage examples are very helpful, too.
Im using this daily to navigate Copenhagen, buy groceries, etc. Best iPhone Danish-English dictionary Ive found. If youre in-country, plan on paying for the pronunciation add-on as well.
This app is a total waste of money. It is ackward to use and all too sensitive. I asked it to look up gængse and kept going to gadeværse. It is almost impossible to move from "ga" to "gæ".
Very useful. It been helpful even as I learn more of the language.
If you need a quick dictionary that can lookup individual words, this is great. It also has a built in interface for google translate if you are on 3G or wifi. Wish it had sentence translation.
Small, unpretentious but very useful.
Easy to use. I email family in Denmark, using Danish on my phone. This app is always with me and works great:) Thanks
